Kakuro Conquest is a free online Kakuro puzzle game that works like a number logic puzzle built on top of a Crossword sheet. Each row or column must add up to the values provided in the clue above it or to the left, and there is always only one solution to each Kakuro puzzle—which you can solve with logic alone!
At first glance, Kakuro Conquest may seem very intimidating and complicated, but it’s simpler than it looks, and there are many iterations of the puzzle that can fit your preferences. Aside from being accessible anywhere online, it plays the same as the classic Kakuro puzzles of the past!
The game is played on a grid with white and grey cells, with the objective of filling out all the white cells with numbers 1 to 9 without repeating a single one vertically and horizontally (same diagonal values are okay). The grey cells near the white cells contain number clues, which are the sum of the numbers you’ll put in the white cells. These grey cells are split in two, with a number clue put above, below or in both areas. Using your keyboard or phone, you must click or tap on your selected cell and put the number you want in it, and they must all add up to the number clue put on the left end or upper end of the cells.
Once you think you’ve completed everything without repeating a number vertically or horizontally, you can press the check button to see if you got the right answer. If there are any logic errors on the sum total or any instance that there is a duplicate digit, it will be highlighted in red and you must enter the right number instead. And remember, there’s always only one solution for each Kakuro Conquest puzzle!

Kakuro puzzles can be very challenging, and if you’re a new player trying it out for the first time, you may not know where to start at all! But not to worry, here are several tips that can help you focus and finish your Kakuro puzzle:
Not everyone can become a Kakuro expert right off the bat—but every aspiring expert has to start somewhere! If you’re new to playing Kakuro Conquest, it’s ideal to learn the game’s mechanics first by playing on the easiest difficulty with the smallest grid size. A Kakuro puzzle becomes more fun to play if you can see yourself being able to solve it!
There are many different approaches to finishing a Kakuro puzzle, but many new players find it easier to win by filling in the shortest cells first and then analyzing the longer ones that are left later. This is very helpful if your puzzle is filled with many short cells partnered with several long ones. As you fill in and progress shorter and easier cells first, you’ll eventually learn what kind of values are ideal for what clue.
Once you start filling in cells, don’t focus on just one end, as all horizontal and vertical cells are interconnected. Regardless of what number clue is put at the end of any column or row, it’s crucial to consider each value as part of the overall system you want to fill the whole puzzle with. Fill each cell with a value that will fit the desired sum on both the left and upper ends to avoid making major number adjustments due to duplicate numbers later on.
Finishing a Kakuro puzzle online can be very challenging, and there are times that you may doubt if the number you’ll put in is the right one. If this ever happens, you can always tap the number clue you’re working on, and it will give you hints on possible values you can put in that specific situation. For example, a clue of 5 in 2 has a possibility of being filled with added combinations of 1 and 4 or a 2 and 3!
There’s no rush in finishing your Kakuro Conquest puzzle—unless, of course, you’re competing with friends or trying to beat your record! Regardless of how you want to play your puzzle, always enjoy each one. And when you want your Kakuro games free of charge and always available, you can find them all here at Kakuro Conquest!
